In my family we have a game called "Stating the Obvious," in which we try to see who can make the most clichéd statement possible. For example, when in the observation tower of a very tall building, one of us will be sure to say, "Gee, all the cars down there sure look like little Matchbox cars, huh?" To be followed (or topped) by, "Yeah, and the people look like ants from here!" We often see these obvious statements at the start of an article in periodicals and newspapers.
